The rhinos of Kaziranga National Park comprise
the largest herd of these massive herbivores
to be found in the sub-continent. Because of
their relatively high concentration the rhino
are commonly spotted when visitors are taking
elephant safaris in the park. It is not uncommon
to encounter ten or more rhino while on a safari
with a fair chance of seeing young as well.
Also in Kaziranga you may be lucky enough to
spot tiger although such sightings are not common.
Far more likely are sightings of wild elephant,
wild buffalo, deer of various types and, of
course, the unending variety of birdlife.
